When your whole existence is built on a lie, that lie will ultimately be your downfall

Tonight, RB Leipzig will visit a stadium where they will be met with a wall of hatred.

In the stands, people will imitate Bombers to mock the firebombing of Leipzig during World War 2.

I guess when you’re so steeped in hatred, you just don’t know how to be decent to your fellow man.

I sincerely doubt that RB Leipzig cared or knew much about the Ibrox side’s history before they arrived in Glasgow for tonight’s contest.

However, today it would appear they are not stupid. A few tweets from their English twitter account have been doing the rounds, one from yesterday in particular is quite amusing:

When you see a tweet like this – if you’re a fan of the Ibrox side – surely it must make you question why your ridiculous same club belief is even the source of a joke to a German side that knows little or nothing of your history?

Not for me or any other fan outside the Ibrox bubble, of course.

But it has to be embarrassing for the Ibrox fans who have some semblance of sanity, I mean, they can’t all be that stupid, can they?

Surely?

Of course we know the Germans are highly intelligent, after all Jurgen Klopp even made a joke of this.

They don’t miss a trick and they certainly didn’t miss it at Ibrox either.

They also made a strange reference to Buckfast this evening, not sure what it means, but they did it nonetheless.

Who knows?

But they do have a good sense of humour, I’ll give them that. I’m sure all the sensitive Ibrox souls out there won’t see it that way, since they never seem to.

Poor Ronan Murphy, a Bundesliga reporter, who had the misfortune to be Irish, found out to his detriment what happens when you make a joke about the Ibrox side’s age.
