When Man City FFP decision could be made as Premier League 'set date' for hearing

Manchester City have reportedly learned when their Financial Fair Play fate will be decided as a result of their charges following 115 breaches - with the Premier League 'setting the date' for their hearing.

City were reprimanded last season when Premier League chiefs released a statement confirming they would be looking at allegations the top-flight champions had breached financial rules. Coming to a final decision will take a long time with a host of alleged breaches to sort through.

Pep Guardiola's side have won five of the last six Premier League titles and they are firmly in the mix to land another. According to the Daily Mail, City could discover their fate over the alleged financial breaches before the close of 2024 amid reports they could be docked points, stripped of titles or given eye-watering fines.

The report states that the Premier League and City have agreed upon a date at which the club will face an independent panel, in what could be the biggest hearing in footballing history and without doubt the English top-flight. An investigation was opened in 2018, and it took almost four years of digging from league bosses to finally committ to charging City in February with 115 breaches.

The saga has seen both the club and the league remain relatively silent over proceedings with the dealings being kept in-house and away from media attention, though the Mail claim that late autumn 2024 will be the date when City will begin to hear of their fate. The next step is to take statements from witnesses which will remain the case
