When is the Women's World Cup final? Date and kick-off time as England take on Spain

England Lionesses have made it to the final of the Women's World Cup.

A stunning 3-1 victory over hosts Australia on Wednesday means the EURO 2022 winners will now take on Spain in the final.

Ella Toone, who replaced the suspended Lauren James for England’s quarter-final win over Colombia, gave the Lionesses the lead in the first half before Australia captain Sam Kerr eqaulised just after the break.

However England struck back immediately as Laruen Hemp netted to make it 2-1. Alessia Russo secured the victory with a goal in the 86th minute.

“Well played @Lionesses. Absolutely superb performance,” he posted.

“A World Cup final. A World Cup final at football. It’s been a while. What a wonderful achievement.”

The Prince of Wales tweeted a personal message of congratulations to the Lionesses as they stormed their way into the World Cup final.

Heir to the throne William, who is president of the FA, wrote: “What a phenomenal performance from the @Lionesses – on to the final!

“Commiserations to @TheMatildas, you’ve played brilliantly and been fantastic co-hosts of this World Cup. W”
