When is the Carabao Cup draw? Time and third round rules for Man City and Man United

The Carabao Cup has continued this week, with more teams set to join the competition from the next round.

At the weekend, both Manchester United and Manchester City were in Premier League action. Pep Guardiola's side cruised past Ipswich Town and sealed a 4-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.

United meanwhile, fell to a 2-1 defeat against Brighton, their first defeat of the season after Joao Pedro scored the winner during stoppage time. As well City and United, teams such as Liverpool and Arsenal will all join the competition and will discover their third-round opponents in this week's draw.

The draw for the third round will take place on Wednesday (August 28) after the conclusion of the second-round match between Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United at the City Ground.

The game will kick-off at 8pm and the draw will take place shortly after.

A total of 32 teams will participate in the third-round draw of the Carabao Cup.
