When is Rooney documentary out on Amazon Prime and how to watch it for free

Wayne Rooney, the manager of Derby County and former Manchester United and England striker, is about to have a new documentary released about his life by Amazon.

The up-front hero, 36, did it all winning the Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Europea League, Club World Cup and PFA Player's Player of the Year. In total, he won 16 trophies as a Man United player and is the club's leading goalscorer of all time.

He is also the second-highest Premier League scorer of all time and is currently the top scorer for England of all time with 53 goals. He is also the Three Lions' second most capped player.

Wayne picked up the permanent Derby County managerial gig in 2021, with the embattled club fighting for survival after financial woes and subsequent points deductions.

Now, looking back on his extraordinary life and career, the new documentary looks to delve deep into the world of one of England's most extraordinary footballing talents.

The deep dive, titled Rooney, is set to air on Amazon Prime, meaning subscribers to the service will be able to watch the anticipated programme from its release.

For those who don't have it, the streaming platform is available for £7.99 a month and is part of the service for people who take advantage of Amazon Prime's shopping service.

There are often trials available for new customers, so you may be able to watch for free if you haven't signed up before - but be mindful that it's likely the subscription will auto-renew after your trial expires.

The film has been directed by Bafta-winner Matt Smith, who lists documentaries about David Beckham and Rio Ferdinand on his CV.

The film is set to look back at Wayne's career, with a major focus on both his time at Manchester
