Pierre Emile Hojbjerg is one player who has had inconsistent form this season and although his importance has been highlighted, his Tottenham future is now being questioned.
The Dane has made 22 Premier League appearances so far this season, scoring two goals and registering one assist, as well as starting in all of the league fixtures he has featured in.
The 26-year-old has played alongside Oliver Skipp, Harry Winks and now Rodrigo Bentancur in mainly a midfield two this season.
Hojbjerg has had some up and down form, acting as a leader in the middle of the field and trying to help his side in attack but has also struggled in some games with sloppy passing and lack of impact.
Jose Mourinho already highlighted the Dane's leadership qualities and what he brings to a Spurs side, in December 2020.
"Pierre is very intelligent, he reads the game very well, he understands the game very well," the Portuguese head coach admitted. "He is going to be a coach one day, for sure.
