When and what time is Georgia US election result due?
Neither Democrat Kamala Harris nor Republican Donald Trump are ahead in the polls and the US election could still go either way. Undecided 'swing states' that have a history of switching between Democrat and Republican leadership will be the key factor. One of them is the state of Georgia.
Both Trump and Harris have states they can probably count on to get at least 200 electoral votes, but they need to get to 270 to win, so it comes down to several 'swing states'. Georgia holds 16 electoral votes.
Polling stations close in Georgia at 7pm local time (12am UK time) - but it is highly unlikely that we will get a result shortly afterwards.

Joe Biden narrowly won Georgia four years ago by 49.47% over Trump's 49.24% vote share: a margin of 0.23% and 11,779 votes. Average polling from the New York Times has Trump very narrowly ahead of Harris this time around.
Due to the close margins in the election results in 2020, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger announced on November 11 that a recount by hand would be conducted. The recount was completed on November 18, and Biden was confirmed to be the winner on November 19. A similar close result this week could lead to a similar delay.
Predicting who will become the US president is all but impossible as even the most-respected polls have not pointed to a clear winner.
Neither candidate currently holds a polling lead in enough states to reach 270 electoral votes. Polls in the closest states - frustratingly - are pretty much tied. Then there's the fact it's quite common for polls not to match the final results, sometimes by a lot.
