Rodrigo Bentancur scored a goal for Uruguay as they beat Venezuela 4-1 on Tuesday, in the midfielder's final game of the international break.
The new Tottenham man hasn't scored in over a year for his country but in the first game after he signed for the Lilywhites, he bagged a goal inside the first minute.
The 24-year-old signed a four-and-a-half year deal with Spurs, which keeps him in north London until 2026 and he was one of two deadline day signings, as his former Juventus teammate Dejan Kulusevski is also now a Tottenham player.
The midfielder has made 19 Serie A appearances for the Italian side so far this season, registering two assists and most often playing in a central midfield role.
Antonio Conte wanted a right wing-back, striker and central midfielder during the January transfer window and Bentancur ticks one of those off the list.
James Horncastle, Serie A correspondent for The Athletic explained the impact the midfielder could have on a Tottenham side.
