'It's nothing special' - Celtic star dismisses hype over Aaron Ramsey Rangers move as he ramps up Old Firm rivalry

Celtic star Josip Juranovic insists he isn't worried by Aaron Ramsey's move to Rangers, adding it's 'nothing special'.

Ramsey completed a shock loan move to Ibrox on deadline day, despite being strongly linked with a return to the Premier League for much of the January window, with his arrival sparking jubilation on the blue half of Glasgow.

He has already been training with his new team-mates ahead of Wednesday's crunch Old Firm clash with bitter rivals Celtic, although Rangers boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst has said Ramsey is unlikely to be involved at Celtic Park.

Even so, his arrival has been met with huge excitement by followers of the Scottish champions, many of whom have heralded his signing as the biggest move since Paul Gascoigne came to the club back in 1995.

However, those on the other side of the rivalry are clearly not as impressed.

Current star Juranovic said: “It’s just Ramsey. It is nothing special. If you have, say, Cristiano Ronaldo in the team and the team is not going well, it’s not just one player who will change the game, you need to play all 11.

“We have really quality players here — and we need to watch ourselves.”

Celtic can overtake Rangers to go top of the Scottish Premiership with victory over their rivals on Wednesday night, and Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou is similarly keen to focus on his own players rather than any activity at Ibrox.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference, the Celtic boss warned there could be no guarantees that Ramsey would be a success in Scotland.

“Ultimately all these things come down to performances," he said.
