What Ralf Rangnick and Manchester United rival managers have said about top four race

The race for the Premier League’s top four remains as tight as ever, with Manchester United getting themselves back on track this week.

Back-to-back draws against Burnley and Southampton looked to have left United’s hopes in doubt, but a much-needed win against Brighton – coupled with some handy results elsewhere – means they’re still firmly in the race.

They currently lead the way on 43 points, with West Ham two points further back, while Arsenal carry a major threat with three games in hand to overturn their four-point difference.

Wolves have emerged as outsiders following their 2-0 win over Tottenham last weekend, and sit six points behind United with two games in hand, while Spurs are a point further back with three games in hand, although three straight defeats have come as a major blow to their chances.

Speaking earlier this week, the United interim manager said: "We want to finish fourth in the league, this is the highest possible achievement we can get.

"The Champions League, definitely we want to proceed but it's not an easy one.

"In the league, it's No. 4. That's what we have to achieve and what we're aiming at. Next season, after being here 11 weeks, I know what it takes for next season but it's not the time now to discuss this with everyone."
