What Paul Pogba has said about Aurelien Tchouameni amid Manchester United transfer links

Paul Pogba has already outlined just how big a fan he is of Aurelien Tchouameni amid Manchester United links to the Frenchman.

United are prioritising signing a midfielder in the summer transfer window in order to boost their squad. Declan Rice has been of long term interest for the Reds but his valuation is likely to put United off any deal.

MEN Sport reported that United were working hard on a deal for Kalvin Phillips. Tchouameni, who has impressed at Monaco this season, has been linked with a move to the north west.

When speaking about his future this week, Tchouameni told Monaco's official website: "When I start something, I try to be the best I can be. I aspire to be one of the best players in Europe in my position.

"So I work every day to achieve this goal. This involves working at home or at the club, apart from the team's training sessions.

"We are lucky here at Monaco to have very good infrastructure with the performance centre, which allows us - as players - to optimise our training. For example, I'm just coming out of a core training session with the club's physical trainer.

"Monaco are a very big French club and with a wonderful history. Very great players have played here.

"When I was at Bordeaux and heard of the club's interest in me, I didn't hesitate for a second to come here. I knew it could help me progress, with top facilities - and being a top project for young players.

"Today I am very happy to be part of this great club." Despite his willingness to stay at the Ligue 1 club, Pogba has already declared his eagerness to play alongside Tchouameni further.
