Well, that's it – Ozark is over. Fans watched the nail-biting story conclude in a dramatic finale, which dropped on Netflix on Friday (April 29).

For the last five years, viewers have followed Marty Byrde (Jason Bateman) and his wife Wendy (Laura Linney) as they tried to launder $500 million to appease a drug cartel. In the opening of the Netflix series, Marty dragged his family out to Ozarks, Missouri.

But things soon get darker and more dramatic as his wife and kids, Charlotte and Jonah, get wrapped up in his mess. They also had to face Ruth Langmore (Julia Garner, Inventing Anna), who was out for vengeance.

Season 4 was split into two parts, with 14 episodes in total. In this season, freedom is seemingly within reach for the family, but their frayed bonds could ultimately cause their downfall.

Bateman directed some of the episodes himself, and won an Emmy Award for it in 2019. He also has two Screen Actors Guild Awards for his performance, which added to his mammoth 17 wins and 77 nominations over his long career.

New York-born Bateman has been acting on TV since the 1980s, when he played orphaned boy James Cooper for the NBC show Little House on the Prairie . He appeared on '80s TV series Silver Spoons , Knight Rider and It's Your Move , before making more of a name for himself as David Hogan on The Hogan Family .
