What Marcelo Bielsa told Kalvin Phillips after his lowest Man City moment
Kalvin Phillips was so down after a poor substitute performance for Manchester City in April that he sought out advice from former Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa.
Phillips has underwhelmed since signing for City from Leeds last summer, playing just 21 times as the Blues won the treble and starting on only four occasions - two coming after the Premier League title had been won.
The England midfielder is determined to make his second season at the Etihad a better one than his first, but has first opened up on the lowest point of his debut campaign - when he came off the bench against Leicester in April and 'had a stinker' by his own admission.
His performance led to him going home and crying, before picking up his phone and calling upon former Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa for advice.

Speaking to Sky Sports ahead of the release of a documentary charting his move from City to Leeds, Phillips said: "The only time that I've felt down about the situation was when Man City played Leicester and I came on for about half an hour, but I was rubbish.
"I can remember going home and I was so upset with myself that I started crying. I got on the phone and messaged Marcelo Bielsa and asked if I could speak to him.
"He replied to me within about five hours. I think it was his translator who sent the message, but he said: 'Yes, I'd love to speak to you'. So the translator called me and we had the phone call.
"It was just good to have a chat and he basically told me that I have the ability, it's just down to confidence and being positive. And since that conversation I've been as positive as I can. Getting through that and seeing the
