What Ibrahim Sangare has said about 'dream' transfer amid Manchester United transfer links

Ibrahim Sangare has already dropped a hint over his next move amid emerging reports linking Manchester United with the sought-after PSV Eindhoven midfielder. United want to sign a natural holding midfielder as part of the summer rebuild under Erik ten Hag after being unable to strengthen in the position last summer.

Ten Hag and Sangare know each other well from their Eredivisie days. Ten Hag led Ajax to three league titles in his four and a half years in charge, while Sangare has been a mainstay for PSV since moving to the club from Toulouse in 2020.

Sangare, 24, cost €7million at that stage and the Ivory Coast star is understood to have a €35million (£29.9million) release clause in his PSV contract. Reports from Sky Sports credit United with an interest, as well as fellow Premier League sides Chelsea, Liverpool and Saudi-backed Newcastle.

According to those reports, Sangare is confident that he will arrive in the UK this summer. That comes after Dutch publication De Telegraaf pressed the player about his future during an interview with them in May.

Sangare said: "I am a PSV player and I am concentrating on the three games we have left this season. I don't have my head in other things. After that, I'll go on holiday and I'll have time to talk about possible next projects, but until then I don't want to worry about that.

"Playing in the Premier League is not only a dream of mine, but a dream of every footballer. That is the biggest and most important league in the world."

Sangare has made 88 appearances in two years at PSV. He also helped them win the KNVB Cup last season.
