‘What have you done with your barnet?’ Ronnie O’Sullivan baffled by Dominic Dale’s new hairdo

Ronnie O’Sullivan picked up a victory in the opening round of the Welsh Open on Monday afternoon but he was more interested in Dominic Dale’s hairdo than the snooker after the win.

The Rocket downed Oliver Lines 4-0 in Llandudno, although it wasn’t completely straightforward with the Yorkshireman having a number of chances but failing to capitalise.

Dale was asking the world champion about the win in the BBC studio, but O’Sullivan interrupted him to check in on the Spaceman’s latest styling.

The Welshman has never been shy with the hair dye and O’Sullivan was curious about the new colour on display.

‘What have you done with your barnet?’ O’Sullivan asked as Dale questioned him.

‘It’s ginger! He’s gone from grey to ginger overnight!’

The Spaceman laughed it off saying: ‘Oh goodness knows. Anything to disguise the grey! That’s a rapid change of subject!’

Dale has rocked some memorable looks over the years, going from peroxide blonde to jet black and plenty of shades in between.

The Rocket wasn’t at his best, but still knocked in breaks of 51, 58 and 91 to complete the whitewash win and did not sound too fussed that he wasn’t firing on all cylinders.

‘It was alright, it was what it was, snooker. You can’t pot them all the time,’ he said.

‘I was trying to stay focussed, concentrating on what I was doing. Sometimes winning your own mental battles in your head allows you to play better. I never panic.
