What Harry Maguire did as West Ham youngsters paraded trophy before Manchester United fixture

Harry Maguire has been praised after he approached West Ham's Under-18 side on Sunday to congratulate them on their success in both the FA Youth Cup and Premier League South this season.

Maguire has been used sparingly by Erik ten Hag this season and MEN Sport understands his future at the club could be in jeopardy as the summer transfer window approaches. The 30-year-old has started just seven Premier League games this season having slipped down the centre-back pecking order.

He was named among the United substitutes at the London Stadium on Sunday but failed to make an appearance - the 13th time this season he has been named in a Premier League matchday squad without taking to the field.

Despite another frustrating day for both himself and his club, Maguire has been praised for his actions prior to kick-off in the capital.

West Ham took the opportunity to allow their Under-18 side to show off the two trophies they've won this season, with Kevin Keen's side winning both the FA Youth Cup and Premier League South.

As the youngsters completed their lap of honour and headed for the tunnel ahead of kick-off, Maguire approached them and congratulated them on their impressive achievement.

Maguire's on-field troubles this season haven't impacted his professionalism off the pitch. The club captain has been spotted at numerous United youth team matches and he has been present in the United dressing room when unavailable for selection.
