What happened to the 15 Manchester United players sold by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

Erik ten Hag has sold two Manchester United players since taking over as boss; Andreas Pereira moving to Fulham and James Garner leaving for Everton.

He's got some way to go before reaching the 15 squad players Ole Gunnar Solskjaer offloaded during his near-three-year stay, although some fans may feel more should have left this summer given last season's woes. Solskjaer wasn't afraid to wield his axe when it came to discarding unneeded players.

Good enough to play 14 matches for the first-team, mainly under Louis van Gaal, Borthwick-Jackson headed to Oldham after he was deemed surplus to requirements at United and spent one season there before moving on, yet again. Currently with Burton, the defender has featured 51 times for them overall.

Darmian spent four years at Old Trafford without really showcasing his ability. Since his exit, the defender lifted the Serie A title with Inter Milan in the 2020/21 season before winning the Coppa Italia last season.

Technically it was Fellaini who was the first shown the door by Solskjaer. Now into the twilight of his career at 34, he is still with SD Luneng (Shandong Taishan) after moving directly to the Chinese Super League outfit in February 2019. Fellaini has since cut off those trademark curls, by the way.
