What happened at the latest anti-Glazer protest as Manchester United ticket office surrounded

A group of Manchester United supporters gathered outside Old Trafford before the Premier League match with Brentford to hold their latest protest against the Glazer family on Saturday afternoon.

Fan group The 1958 confirmed plans to stage the protest and hundreds gathered at the ticket office to show their disgruntlement against the American owners. It has been 11 months since the Glazer family announced a 'strategic review' of their ownership with a view to welcoming fresh investment or a complete takeover.

However, there has been no breakthrough made following offers made by Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe. Proposals from the two front-runners have yet to be accepted by the Glazer family and recent reports have even suggested that the Americans no longer want to sell the club.

Before the Brentford game, some supporters gathered outside Old Trafford to vent their frustrations at the owners, not only for their lack of communication but also for their running of the club since the 2005 takeover.

Forming a large group across the ticket office front, supporters chanted "We want Glazers out" while holding and parading several banners. They also sang "Bleed the club, not the fans" before heading inside Old Trafford to watch the club's Premier League meeting with Brentford.

A statement released before the protest from The 1958 group read: "You've seen the lies released by the club and their mouthpieces. Marginalising and exploiting our match-going fanbase. This is our club. We will fight for the right to support it. Dignity and integrity needs to be restored."
