Birmingham have had a poor season this year and currently sit 20th in the league.
With 12 points separating them from the relegation zone, they are safe this season but having won only two of their eight games in the last two months, pressure is mounting considerably on manager Lee Bowyer.
Yesterday they travelled to 16th placed Blackpool and came away with a 6-1 loss which has left serious question marks over the future of manager Lee Bowyer.
Bowyer became Blues manager towards the end of last season but unfortunately his first full season hasn’t gone the way he would have hoped.
We asked FLW’s Birmingham City fan pundit Tom Oxland whether he believes it’s time for Bowyer to be sacked and he said: “I think Bowyer’s time at Blues is coming to an end now sadly.
“Football being a results business, these things happen. He’ll always be very highly regarded by Blues fans as a legend, as a player really, but we have to act quickly because this Blues team needs to rebuild in the summer otherwise we probably will be facing the drop zone next season if we don’t rebuild fast. He’s clearly not getting enough out the players.
“However, what frustrates me is that I don’t feel this is all on Bowyer. I think the players have to take a large amount of the blame but at the end of the day the real shadow, the real weight upon the club is the ownership and if that doesn’t change then I think we’ll continue to plummet.”
