What Dundee vs Rangers pitch looks like before inspection as Dens Park first glimpse emerges

Fans have received the first glimpse of Dens Park ahead of the pitch inspection before Dundee's clash with Rangers.

Four games at Dens Park have already postponed this season – and last Saturday's clash with Motherwell surviving the torrential rain after two pitch inspections. Philippe Clement's men are looking to take his side top of the Scottish Premiership and leapfrog Celtic – but the clash on Tayside faces an 11am pitch inspection amid a Met Office weather warning for rain.

Rangers boss Clement had urged the SPFL to make a call on the surface last night before the Ibrox squad travelled to Tayside. He has been made to wait - with the images ahead of the Dens Park pitch now starting to emerge before the 11am inspection when referee Don Robertson decides of the game can be green light after the covers were removed after the downpour in Tayside.

Sky Sports state there have been three areas of real concern going into this game - the two goalmouths and a "mottled" area in the middle of the pitch. But otherwise the TV company says it looks OK.

Don Robertson has now arrived to assess the pitch and the Rangers coaching team are also in attendance with a verdict expected imminently. Alex Rae is in the building as we await a decision from Robertson.
