Chris Sutton gives 2 reasons Rangers aren’t out of the title race yet as Celtic hero borrows Kris Boyd playbook

Cautious Chris Sutton reckons Celtic's title battle with Rangers is far from over - as he echoed Kris Boyd's criticism of the lacklustre loss to Ross County.

Philippe Clement stepped surrendered Scottish Premiership favourites status after their shock defeat to the Staggies - with the Hoops firmly back in control of the fight to claim the trophy. The Hoops now hold a four point advantage at the summit having played a game more than Rangers - but will also welcome the Light Blues to Celtic Park in the final derby showdown of the campaign.

And following the Ross County shocker, Sutton spoke on the Daily Mail's 'It's All Kicking Off' podcast to share Sky Sports sparring partner Kris Boyd's view of Clement's side - with the former Rangers striker blasting the intensity of the display and stating that he knew the visitors to Dingwall were not going to "lift" the dire performance.

The Celtic legend said: "Basically, nobody saw that coming. Least of all Philippe Clement. With the way they finished against Celtic I was astonished by the real lack of intensity from their performance, especially after a first half where they were so insipid.

"They go in front and you think they are not going to let this go, but Ross County came out and got a couple of goals. They carried a real threat to Rangers and they go 3-1 ahead. That is a bad, bad day for Rangers."

But he refused to rule out the title being taken to the blue half of Glasgow. He stated that a win at Celtic Park and some additional twists in the Premiership tale could see James Tavernier lift the trophy come the end of the campaign.
