Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero thanked Harry Kane on social media following Spurs' 3-2 over Man City on Saturday night.
Kane's goal in the dying minutes of the game meant Romero conceding an injury-time penalty didn't prove to be too costly.
Romero slid to block a Bernardo Silva cross and despite the game initially continuing, VAR called the game back to give the penalty.
Riyad Mahrez converted from the spot and was set to deny Spurs the three points before the England captain headed home late on.
Taking to social media platform Instagram after the final whistle, the Argentine defender posted a picture of himself and Kane in the pre-game warm-up with the caption: "Thank you friend."
It was a pulsating game from the start, with Dejan Kulusevski opening the scoring inside five minutes with his first goal for the club since joining on loan from Juventus on transfer deadline day last month.
Ilkay Gundogan pulled City level midway through the first half before Kane grabbed the first of his two goals 15 minutes after the break.
Mahrez's penalty after Romero handled the ball looked like it would be the last goal of the game before Kulusevski turned provider and set up Kane at the death.
