Ange Postecoglou ’s team have agreed to face Legia Warsaw in Poland as part of their pre-season schedule to recognise the efforts of during his five years in Glasgow, in which he won three League titles, one Scottish Cup and two League Cups as well as helping his squad to reach the last 16 of the Champions League in consecutive years. Boruc also gave eight years of service to Legia across two spells, hanging up his gloves in 2020 with the Polish side.
Aside from the emotional send off for a Parkhead fan favourite, it will provide a tough test for the Scottish Premiership champions as they look to ramp up their preparations off the back of their Austrian training camp and clash with English Championship side Blackburn Rovers. Legia featured in the Europa League group stage next season and could provide the Australian boss with a measuring stick of where his side are at ahead of their return to the Champions League next term.
