What Avram Glazer did when asked about Manchester United takeover at Wembley

Avram Glazer chose to ignore a question about whether Manchester United would be sold at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

The Glazers rarely make appearances at Old Trafford, but Avram Glazer attended the Carabao Cup final victory against Newcastle in February and he visited Wembley again this weekend to watch the women's team play in the FA Cup showpiece.

After the game, Avram Glazer quickly walked through the mixed zone with assembled media to his side and a journalist asked him: "How long is the sale going to take?" He ignored the question and proceeded to exit the stadium.

The Glazers announced in November they were 'exploring strategic opportunities' for the club, which could include selling it. That has led to talks with Sheikh Jassim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe over a sale and it's believed the latter is currently leading the race.

It has been suggested Ratcliffe, who wants to buy a majority stake and not 100 per cent of the club like Sheikh Jassim, is close to being named as the preferred bidder, which could allow Avram and Joel Glazer to remain at Old Trafford.

At this stage, a deal is yet to be agreed and supporters have continued to protest to demand a full sale. Around 10,000 fans protested against the Glazers in August before the Liverpool game and another demonstration took place three weeks ago.

Avram Glazer insisted the sale was a 'process' when approached in Florida in November, saying: "As we announced, the board went through a process and it's decided it's going to look at different strategic alternatives and that's what we're doing.
