What a Celtic starting XI with a bold makeover really looks like as daring Maeda plan plus surprise changes

It would be fair to say Brendan Rodgers appeared emboldened in the wake of Celtic's gritty 2-1 win away to Hibs.

The 51-year-old pumped the air after his first ever win at Easter Road, however, there remains concerns among the fanbase after the hysteria calmed down. This Celtic side living in a post-Ange world have been served up several charges by their public. Regular watchers find the football slower, the passing attacks predictable and Kyogo's downturn is hard for many – including Chris Sutton – to comprehend.

But what can Rodgers do to awaken performances which, in the eyes of those who pay, is a pale imitation to the brand which made Angeball unmissable? A bold shout which is gaining steam is switching to a 3-5-2. It's not a favoured way of playing for Rodgers, however, it appears it could suit some key men. Alistair Johnston is out but he feels an ideal fit as a right-sided defender in a back three.

Greg Taylor is on the mend but there's a sense Daizen Maeda possesses the same traits which made Didier Agathe a vital commodity at wing back which is about attacking as much as defending. There's a growing sense something bold is needed if Celtic are to go again and see off Rangers to Premiership and Scottish Cup glory. In the line-up it allows both Kyogo and Matt O'Riley to work off Adam Idah who appears set for a run in the team with Rodgers keen to lean on his pace in-behind.
