Weymouth 1-6 Wrexham: Dragons produce stunning second-half display as Terras are hit for six

Wrexham AFC produced a sensational second-half display to overwhelm their hosts at the Bob Lucas Stadium. Despite being a goal down at halftime, Phil Parkinson's men recovered in spectacular fashion with six second-half goals to run out 6-1 winners.

Jordan Davies and Paul Mullin each helped themselves to a double whilst James Jones and Ollie Palmer completed the scoring for the rampant reds. It was a much-needed victory for Phil Parkinson's men after a disappointing showing at Woking on Saturday.

The win means that Wrexham are still in the hunt for automatic promotion, sitting four points behind leaders Stockport County, albeit County with a game in hand. Parkinson made two changes from the side who lost 2-1 on Saturday with Liam McAlinden coming in for Callum McFadzean and Tyler French replacing Reece Hall-Johnson.

Both sides started the game in a cagey fashion, with both sides needing the win for differing reasons. Wrexham had a half chance when a Mullin cross found Palmer at the back post but he chose to bring the ball down rather than have a shot and the chance was lost.

That was as good as it got for the visitors in the opening exchanges however as Weymouth looked to impose themselves on the Reds and were getting the better of their more illustrious opponents as Phil Parkinson's men toiled. The home side then had a goal ruled out for offside but they did take a deserved lead a few moments later.

A through ball found its way to Tom Bearwish and he made no mistake, slotting past Dibble to put the Terras 1-0 up.
