West Ham transfer news: Moyes 'would be foolish' not to move for £25m rising star
West Ham would be “foolish” not to make a move for Chelsea striker Armando Broja in the summer, says journalist Alex Crook.
The 20-year-old, who is currently on loan at Southampton, was linked with a transfer to West Ham last month as David Moyes looked to bolster his forward options.
According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Southampton were keen to sign Broja permanently in a £25m deal in the winter window, though nothing came into fruition in the end.
West Ham were also thought to be interested in buying Broja outright from Chelsea, with Football Insider claiming that recruitment chief Rob Newman had given Moyes positive feedback about the Albanian.
Further Premier League interest in Broja comes as no surprise, as he has impressed at St Mary’s this season.
The 6 ft 3 Chelsea academy product is currently Southampton’s top scorer in all competitions, netting eight times in total for the Saints.

While Crook expects Broja to stay at St Mary’s for another year, the talkSPORT reporter thinks the likes of West Ham and Newcastle United would be silly not to make an attempt to sign the Albania international.
Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, Crook said: “That’s the most likely outcome [another year at Southampton], but teams like West Ham and Newcastle would be foolish not to at least have a try.”
It is something they surely have to be considering. They were in the market for a striker in the last transfer window, missing out on Benfica’s Darwin Nunez and Atalanta’s Duvan Zapata, so it is an area that Moyes clearly wants to strengthen.
20 years of age and scoring goals now, Broja looks like he could be a good option for West Ham both today and in the future.
