West Ham transfer news: Maxwel Cornet on the radar but Hammers will have to fight off rivals

West Ham United are being linked with a swoop for strike ace Maxwel Cornet who is available for a bargain fee following Burnley’s relegation to the Championship.

West Ham’s hunt for a new striker has been well documented. A host of attackers have been linked with a move and now Cornet can be added to the list. The Ivory Coast ace is also said to be a target for Everton.

Burnley snapped up Cornet from French outfit Lyon in 2021 and he impressed in his debut campaign. He bagged nine goals but it was not enough to keep the Clarets in the Premier League.

Frank Lampard’s men could lose a striker or two this summer. Both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison are expected to move on. If that is the case replacements will be needed and Cornet could fit the bill.

There is sure to be interest from other clubs as well as soon as Burnley put Cornet up for sale.

Cornet has caught the eye this season and at £17.5million could be a bargain signing in this day and age. It is no surprise that Moyes is considering a swoop. To score
