West Ham: Stunning double signing 'not ruled out' at London Stadium

West Ham United are trying to sign both Armando Broja and Gianluca Scamacca this summer with an ambitious double deal still a possibility, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Only two new signings have been made by David Moyes this summer with Nayef Aguerd and Flynn Downes arriving, while Alphonse Areola has made his move permanent.

As things stand, West Ham appear to be serious about signing both youngsters this summer with Moyes apparently eager to bolster his attack. 

The Hammers are still waiting on a response to their latest £34 million offer to Sassuola for Scamacca, which included a number of add-ons.

Broja is likely to be a more competitive deal to complete with the likes of Newcastle and Southampton holding an interest in the striker. 

But West Ham are eager to get a permanent deal for the 20-year-old who impressed on loan on the South Coast last season. The Atheltic report that a £30 million bid has been placed by the east Londoners.

Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth told GIVEMESPORT: “People are saying, ‘is it going to be Broja or is it going to be Scamacca?’ As it stands? It’s probably going to be one or the other.

“But the information I’ve been told is because they’re going for both, signing both hasn’t been ruled out. It’s unlikely, but signing both has not been ruled out. But Broja is the one that looks like it’s the one that’s edging closer more than the other one.”

In Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen, the Hammers boast an impressive and menacing attacking threat. 

But beyond the duo there is a noticeable dip in quality. Next season will once again see West Ham competing in Europe and building a squad depth that can contend with that makes sense.
