West Ham: 'Personal terms no issue' for £9m signing at London Stadium

West Ham United won’t have ‘an issue’ matching the personal terms of attacking midfielder Hans Vanaken, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The 29-year-old has been linked with a move to the London Stadium for several years now, and it appears as though he is finally ready to depart Club Brugge for pastures new.

Back in 2020, Sky Sports revealed that West Ham had a £13 million bid rejected by Brugge for Vanaken, and David Moyes’ charges are now once again attempting to secure his signature.

The same outlet then recently reported live on air that the Belgian giants have turned down an initial approach worth €10m (£8.4m) for the creative talent, yet he has openly voiced his desire to join the Hammers.

“This may be my last chance to play abroad one day, and I want to take it. A lot has already been written about it. It’s no longer a surprise,” he said in an interview with RTBF.

“I’ve thought about it. The club in question, West Ham, is interested, and so am I. Discussions with Club Brugge will begin on Monday. We’ll see where that takes us!”

And transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has provided an update on Vanaken’s situation, stating that West Ham have gone back in with an improved offer of €11m (£9.2m), although that is also expected to fall short of Brugge’s demands.

Sheth believes that if the east London outfit can ‘raise’ their offer to a level where Brugge ‘would be satisfied’, then the rest of the deal for Vanaken shouldn’t cause any issues.

He told GiveMeSport: “So, I think if West Ham United can raise that offer to a level where Club Brugge would be satisfied, I think the West Ham and player part of the deal won’t be an issue.

“And again, this is a player that West Ham haven’t just looked at in this transfer
