West Ham ‘monitoring’ 20-year-old Austrian star Junior Adamu, Southampton also keen
Adamu is a highly-rated striker that has been ranked as one of the top young talents across Europe. The 20-year-old has been an integral part of the RB Salzburg team this season, scoring seven league goals from 30 appearances. The Nigerian-born star also featured nine times in the Champions League, scoring against Bayern Munich as his side secured a 1-1 draw in the Round of 16 first-leg.
Now, reports suggest Adamu could be set for a Premier League switch, with West Ham shortlisting the star as one of a number of attacking options.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that West Ham are monitoring Adamu’s situation as well as Southampton.
Adamu is valued by the Austrian club at around £12m. With both clubs looking to spend money this summer, this should be well within their price range.
West Ham are looking to bolster their attack in the hope of securing a top six finish next season. They will also look for a solid run in the Europa Conference League.
Southampton on the other hand will be hoping to stay clear of the relegation zone next season. The Saints finished the season in 15th, and were just five points from the drop.
But the two sides are not the only potential suitors for Adamu.
