West Ham: 55-goal striker now available for London Stadium move

West Ham United target Youssef En-Nesyri could now be made available by Sevilla this summer, according to Daily Star journalist Paul Brown.

The Hammers reportedly had a £27 million bid turned down for the 25-year-old in January but could finally secure his services following a downturn in form.

En-Nesyri is first believed to have come onto West Ham’s radar 12 months ago as manager David Moyes looked to provide some cover and competition for Michail Antonio upfront.

The Morocco international bagged 24 goals in 52 appearances throughout 2020/21, catching the eye of the east London outfit’s hierarchy, yet Sevilla were unwilling to do a deal.

As a result, En-Nesyri stayed put at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium, but he was unable to replicate his form from the previous campaign despite taking his career goal tally up to 55.

In 29 outings across all competitions, the 6 foot 2 ace found the back of the net on just five occasions, setting up only two further strikes as he dropped down Julen Lopetegui’s pecking order.

However, that doesn’t appear to have put West Ham off, with the Daily Mail claiming the capital club are now expected to revive their interest in the talented marksman.

Brown has disclosed that Sevilla now ‘seem more willing to sell the player’, although he believes that is ‘probably not a great sign’ for West Ham.

He told GiveMeSport: “I think Moyes is looking for someone reliable in that position, and I think there’d be question marks now over En-Nesyri.
