West Brom vs Wolves SUSPENDED as chaotic fan violence gets 'really nasty' in disgraceful derby scenes

West Brom vs Wolves has been suspended after ugly scenes between fans broke out at the Hawthorns.

The Black Country Derby had the Premier League visitors leading 2-0 against their Championship hosts on FA Cup fourth round business, when chaos and violence broke out with just over 10 minutes to go. According to ITV's broadcast of the game, some away fans were in the home end and violence was breaking out, with authorities struggling to control the situation.

ITV cameras cut away from some of the footage as "some of the scenes are undesirable". Play eventually continued, and commenator Sam Matterface said as the incident happened: "It looks like there has been disorder down in the corner. There does seem to be troubling scenes. I think it's because there are some Wolves fans who might well have ended up in the home end. There are some troubling situations where a kid has been taken out of the ground and onto the pitch to get him away from the trouble.

"The police are coming onto the pitch. Derby day passion is great, derby day intensity is great but this sort of overspill is not acceptable in any sense. It's getting really nasty.

"Sections of the grounds where I think Wolves fans have bought tickets. Police are having to use batons. It's really ugly. This is harking back to the bad old days.

"This is happening in the corner of the main stand and at the other end where the Wolves fans are, it has started to flare up in that corner two. There are two incidents for Police to deal with."
