West Brom: 51 y/o 'very keen on Premier League job' at the Hawthorns

West Brom target Sean Dyche would need produce a similar feat to what Steve Cooper did last season to become a Premier League manager again if he replaces Steve Bruce, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The Baggies are in the market for a new manager following Bruce’s departure earlier this week and ex-Burnley man Dyche is on their list of replacements.

Dyche has been out of work since he left his role at Burnley just weeks before they were relegated last season.

But the 51-year-old could be on the verge of returning to management, with Chris Lepkowski claiming that he's West Brom's top target.

He has previously been keen on landing a vacancy back in the Premier League, so taking over at the Hawthorns would go against his wishes.

Of course, Dyche could back himself to be the man to lead West Brom back into the big time, but their dreadful start to the campaign means he would need to produce heroics for that to happen.

And Jones thinks that he would need to follow in the footsteps of Cooper, who took over at Nottingham Forest this time 12 months ago and went on an incredible run, which culminated in promotion.

He told GIVEMESPORT: "He has been very keen on landing back in the Premier League for his next job and this would be a big turnaround job to make that happen any time soon.

"He would have to produce a miracle season like Steve Cooper did at Forest last season."

Dyche's first season in the second-tier was a disappointing 11th place finish with Watford back in 2011-2012.

He repeated that league position during his first campaign in charge of Burnley in 2012-2013, before his team, against all odds, were promoted to the Premier League the next year following a second place finish.
