'We've lost already' - Manchester United fans react to referee appointment for Man City derby

Manchester United fans have been reacting to the news that Michael Oliver will be the referee when their side travel to face rivals Man City in Sunday's derby.

Oliver's last game in charge of United was the derby back in November where City ran out 2-0 winners thanks to an own goal by Eric Bailly and a Bernardo Silva glancing effort. In total, the 37-year-old Ashington referee has taken charge of United on 33 occasions.

Their win percentage while Oliver is the man in the middle stands at 39.44 per cent, with United picking up on average 1.52 points per game. He has dished out 60 yellow cards to Manchester United players during these matches with an additional two being red.

Oliver also took control of United's home game with Everton which ended in a 1-1 stalemate. The experienced referee will have a tough job on his hands controlling what is sure to be a feisty fixture but the Red Devils fanbase are already unconvinced.

Here is how the fans reacted to the news on Twitter.
