'Don't bottle it' — Manchester United fans react to Ten Hag and Pochettino developments

Manchester United fans are urging that the club pursue appointing Erik ten Hag, after recent reports.

Interim manager Ralf Rangnick will see out his six-month contract in the summer, after taking temporary charge of United in November. The Ajax head coach is among the list of candidates to become the next permanent manager with PSG chief Mauricio Pochettino another name of interest.

On Thursday and Friday, reports claimed Ten Hag 'made contact via third parties' to collect information on the United squad ahead of a potential summer appointment. Following PSG's Champions League collapse to Real Madrid in midweek, fans' scepticism surrounding former Spurs boss Pochettino increased after Karim Benzema's hat-trick inspired a comeback to knock the Ligue 1 leaders out.

Ten Hag took over the reins from Peter Bosz in 2017 and helped Ajax to to the Champions League semi-final in 2019 after stunning both Juventus and Real Madrid. Many United fans have made their thoughts on the double-winning boss and on Pochettino, after the Times claimed the Argentinian is 'on the brink' of the sack in Paris.

Asked about Ten Hag in an interview at the weekend, and the managerial search in general, Rangnick said: "So far we haven't at all spoken about that, nobody, not just [United football director] John Murtough but nobody else, we haven't had that topic in the last weeks and months since I'm here.

"I know my opinion [of who should take the job] but so far we haven't spoken about it so this is what I can tell you. I don't know him, to start with, as a person.
