We simulated Man City vs Burnley to predict FA Cup clash as Vincent Kompany makes Etihad return

Manchester City will be looking to avoid an upset in the FA Cup this weekend when they host Championship side Burnley in the quarter-finals.

A 3-0 win over Bristol City secured Man City's spot in the last eight, with Phil Foden starring in the victory at Ashton Gate. Next up for Pep Guardiola's side is second tier table-toppers Burnley, managed by former City captain Vincent Kompany.

City haven't won the FA Cup since 2019, and they enter Saturday's clash on the back of an incredible 7-0 win over RB Leipzig in the Champions League. So, can City book their spot in the FA Cup semi-finals on Saturday? We simulated the game to find out.

To complete this simulation, we used FIFA 23 and updated the squads with the latest injuries and suspensions.

We predict that City could set up in a 4-3-3 formation, with their line-up as follows: Ortega; Lewis, Stones, Laporte, Ake; Rodri, De Bruyne, Silva; Foden, Alvarez, Grealish.

City were in full control from the start against Burnley, with the front three of Jack Grealish, Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez all causing trouble for the Clarets' backline.
