"We're going live to f****** Gallagher Hill" - Oasis stream infamous Heaton Park viewpoint at final Manchester show

Gallagher Hill, the infamous viewpoint that formerly overlooked the Oasis stage at Heaton Park has taken on a life of its own in recent days - and now Liam and Noel have even dedicated a song to them.

It has become a go-to spot for those without tickets looking to get involved in the action as they watch from a vantage point from the other side of Heaton Park.

During the first of their reunion gigs back at Heaton Park, ticketless fans could see a small portion of the screens inside the arena, allowing them to catch a glimpse of their idols.

However, following the first run of shows, Manchester Council fenced off a section of the hill, obscuring the view of the stage set up. But that has done little to deter the ticketless.

Choosing not to be deterred though, thousands have still headed up for each show and last night, in a particularly poignant moment during the penultimate show, a sea of Oasis fans standing shoulder-to-shoulder, sung their hearts out and swayed to the chorus of Don't Look Back in Anger emanating from across the park.

Several thousand Oasis fans camped on Gallagher Hill earlier in the day, many of whom brought picnics, deckchairs and their families to the gathering.

It's the same tonight too as fans make the most of the last opportunity to hear the band and were even given free Gallagher Hill t-shirts that were apparently sent up from Liam Gallagher himself.

And it's not just the ticketless fans who are enamoured with the hill but Liam and Noel too. As they took to the stage just before 8:15pm tonight, they kicked off with Hello, Acquiesce, Morning Glory and Some Might Say.
