'We'll be ready for them' - Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana sends warning to Man City

Andre Onana has warned Manchester United 'will be ready' for Manchester City when they visit the Etihad for the Manchester derby this weekend.

United progressed to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Wednesday night after a 1-0 win against Nottingham Forest, with Casemiro scoring a late headed goal at the City Ground.

The Reds' attention will now return to the Premier League and the Manchester derby on Sunday. United lost 3-0 against City on an awful afternoon at Old Trafford earlier in the season and they last won at the Etihad in March 2021 when Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was in charge.

However, Onana has warned City that United will be 'ready' to fight for a positive result in the derby. "It's a great feeling, especially the way we won today against a good opponent. Now we're focused on the coming games," he said after the victory against Nottingham Forest.

"We all know how important the game is for us, for the club and city, so will be ready for them because we're Manchester United. It's not going to be easy but we'll make it difficult for them.

"I believe in my guys, we'll fight there and we'll see what happens. For sure, 100 per cent [I'm ready], we're ready to play these kinds of games, very nice and exciting game.

"We play against a very good top team, we know who they are and we'll be ready for them."

Onana was asked about keeping a clean sheet against Forest, despite the number of injuries in the squad, and said: "Being part of this dressing room means you have quality. We've had a lot of injuries this season.
