'We'll be on fire' - Manchester United fans make Erik ten Hag transfer prediction

Manchester United fans are calling for the club to make a move for Ruben Neves before the end of the transfer window.

As the start of the 2022/23 season approaches, United are still looking to add a midfielder to their ranks. The Reds have been in pursuit of Frenkie de Jong for much of the summer, only to have been left frustrated in their efforts so far.

The club are persisting as they approach a 13th week of discussions with Barcelona for the Netherlands international, with reservations over some of their fall-back options. But fans are much more convinced when it comes to Neves.

The Wolves star has been linked with a move to Old Trafford previously and has been heavily touted to leave Molineux this summer, with Barcelona having also been linked. With the new season just days away, the 25-year-old looks increasingly like he could end up staying put.

United fans are imploring Erik ten Hag to reconsider his stance on his back-up options to De Jong, and go after the Portugal international. Asked whether they would be happy for the Reds to sign Neves this summer, supporters were overwhelming in their response.

As reported by the Manchester Evening News , United are continuing with their pursuit of De Jong due to some reservations over their fall-back options. Neves has been suggested to be one of those options by various reports, and could well come back into the reckoning should United be left frustrated by Barcelona.
