'We have a great player' - Getafe manager gives verdict on Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood

Getafe manager Jose Bordalas has praised Manchester United loanee Mason Greenwood for his talent but admitted that the Spanish club 'bet on him' by signing him on loan in the summer. United concluded their six-and-a-half-month investigation into Greenwood in August and the Reds announced that 'it would be most appropriate for him' to continue his career away from Old Trafford.

Getafe signed Greenwood on a season-long loan on deadline day and he's now settled in Spain as he looks to rebuild his career.

Greenwood has contributed five goals and four assists in 15 appearances for Getafe this season and he's now a regular in their starting team after beginning the campaign on the substitute bench.

Getafe are currently in eighth position, just outside the European places, and Bordalas sat down with Marca to discuss his team and give his thoughts on Greenwood.

"Greenwood is a different player, with a lot of talent but in this football talent is not the main thing. It takes more work than talent. When he is at 100% we will be able to check his real level but he has the conditions to play in any major," he said.

"[He's fitted in the team due to] a lot of patience, with a lot of calm, aware that he had been unemployed for a long time without playing and practically without training. But we trusted because of the talent, because of the level that he has had.

"Being able to opt for a player of this level at Getafe is complicated, almost impossible. And well, given the situation, we bet on him. We are happy and content because we have a great player, he is a good boy, he has fitted in really well and he just needs to
