Wayne Rooney in Celtic confession as Man United legend leaves Gary Neville gobsmacked

Wayne Rooney has confessed he wished he played for CELTIC during his playing days.

The new Plymouth Argyle boss enjoyed a brilliant career and turned out at the very top for Manchester United and on the international scene for England. He was widely regarded as one of the top players in world football. Rooney burst onto the scene at Everton with THAT strike against Arsenal before earning his big move to Old Trafford and becoming a club legend in the process. He had stints at DC United and Derby County as well as turning his hand to management but if he had his way things could have worked out so differently - and it is one the Hoops faithful would have thought was only a dream.

Starring on The Overlap alongside former team-mate Gary Neville, the Sky Sports pundit fired quick-fire questions to his good pal. One particular answer caught him off guard and had him tell the Celtic support 'you missed out there'. Neville kicked things off by asking Rooney: "The club you wished you played for in your career? He replied: "Celtic I'd say." A surprised Neville, responded: "Celtic? Wow. Celtic fans you missed out there."
