Watching, Mikel? Dusan Vlahovic shows Arsenal what they’re missing with goal on Juventus debut

It didn’t take long for Dusan Vlahovic to start paying back his £67million transfer fee.

The Serbian joined Juventus in January after the Old Lady moved quickly to bag the Fiorentina striker, who already has seven goals in 14 appearances for his country at the age of 21.

Mikel Arteta was desperate to sign Vlahovic and the Gunners put all their eggs in one basket by spending the majority of the window trying to land the Serb.

However, Vlahovic opted to stay in Italy and Arsenal failed to sign a new striker, despite allowing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave on a free transfer.

And the striker showed Arsenal exactly what they were missing just 13 minutes into his Juventus debut.

The Serbian raced on to a through ball and delicately lofted the ball over the on-rushing Verona goalkeeper with the outside of his left foot.

Arsenal explored the possibility of signing Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak after failing in their bid to land Vlahovic.

However, the Gunners were unprepared to pay Isak’s £74.7m release clause, while Everton refused to listen to offers for Calvert-Lewin.
