WATCH | SA golfer Daffue struggles to find ball... only to realise he scored PGA Tour hole-in-one

South African golfer MJ Daffue was left pleasantly surprised when he scored a hole-in-one during Thursday's opening round of the PGA Tour Sanderson Farms Championship.

On the par-3 4th hole, Daffue's iron shot hit the green and rolled some distance before falling into the cup.

As his tee shot didn't land near the pin, Daffue didn't expect to earn an ace. When he got to the green, he searched for his ball before realising it in fact ended up in the hole.

"Why did you guys not say anything?" he quipped at bystanders.

Daffue, 33, who earned his PGA Tour card in May, finished with a two-under-par 70, four shots off US leaders Davis Riley and Will Gordon.

Meanwhile, Daffue wasn't the only golfer to score an ace on Thursday with American Brandon Wu also carding one on the par-three fourth hole.
