Watch Rangers transfer target Danilo net stunner for Feyenoord as Brazil star puts Ibrox switch talk on hold

Danilo is putting his Rangers transfer waiting game to one side as the Brazilian continues to stun for Feyenoord in pre-season.

The hitman has been heavily linked with a move to Michael Beale's side but Record Sport revealed that the switch to take the 24-year-old to Glasgow in a bid worth around £5.2m with add-ons was booted out by the Eredivisie champions. Boss Arne Slot isn't keen to sell the in-demand talent until he can secure more attacking firepower for their Champions League assault. Meanwhile Rangers have already recruited a host of forwards including Sam Lammers, Abdallah Sima and Cyriel Dessers.

Yet Beale and Co may have to play the waiting game with the Dutch side, with negotiations turning somewhat cold with both clubs looking to thrash out terms. Danilo has earmarked Ibrox as an option for his future but with Feyenoord fans turning scarlet at the thought of the champions losing more players on the cheap after a busy transfer window.

The forward, however, is getting his head down and going to work, showing Slot and Co his skills in pre-season with another stunning goal. In a clip shared to Feyenoord's social media, the Brazilian pings a shot from well outside the area passed a helpless TSG Hoffenheim keeper.

The Rangers boss addressed the situation following his side's 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United. He said: “There’s talks in the background but he’s a Feyenoord player just now and they are also building after a really successful season last year. We’ll keep that between the two clubs at the moment. He’s obviously a good player.”
