Philippe Clement admits he was 'too temperamental' on the touchline against Ross County - and says there's two sides to the coin after calling for better communication with referees.

The big Belgian was cautioned by whistler Alan Muir during the late stages of the first half of Rangers' 3-1 win. Frustrated at the stoppages during the opening 45 minutes, Clement kicked a water bottle flying out of anger and Muir clamped down by showing him a yellow card. Clement owned up to it immediately in the aftermath of the game and offered an apology to the official.

With a grin, he admitted in his press conference he got a little bit carried away and deserved the booking. And, after calling for regular meetings between officials and coaches to improve the communication and eradicate the misunderstandings, he says there's plenty for managers to learn from referees too.

He admitted: "I was a little bit too temperamental in the last game. I kicked away a water bottle and I get a yellow card. I understood that afterwards. If we could have open discussions about that (with the referees), managers can learn things also. Me in the first place."

Asked what could be done to improve the standard of officiating, he said: "I live in the present and the future, I don’t live in the past. It’s good there is transparency around decisions made, it is important everyone can learn from mistakes in football, including myself. It’s always good to have communication with the referees.
