WATCH | Mignon du Preez pulls off stellar catch in Women's Big Bash League

Proteas batter Mignon du Preez starred with bat and on the field as she took the Hobart Hurricanes to an emphatic victory against the Melbourne Stars in the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL).

On Wednesday, Du Preez notched up her second T20 half-century of the season as she scored an unbeaten 50 off 48 balls (hitting three fours and a six).

Du Preez's fifty saw the Hurricanes post a competitive 152/7 in their allotted overs against the Stars.

The former Proteas skipper then snapped up a magnificent catch to dismiss Australia's Sasha Moloney for 7 as Du Preez showed incredible skill, running backwards at full tilt, diving to snare the catch.

The Melbourne Stars fell 38 runs short as they were restricted to 114/6. 

The victory saw the Hobart Hurricanes climb to third on the WBBL standings as they recorded their seventh victory.

The Hobart Hurricanes have two more matches against the Adelaide Strikers (Friday - 06:40 SA time) and Sydney Sixers (Sunday - 16:40 SA time) before the WBBL semi-finals.
