WATCH: Footage shows the moment baby-killer Lucy Letby is arrested and interviewed

This footage shows the moment convicted baby-killer Lucy Letby was arrested.

Following a 10-month trial at Manchester Crown Court, today (August 18) Letby was convicted of murdering seven babies. She was also found guilty of seven counts of attempted murder. The jury were unable to reach a decision on six counts of attempted murder.

She was not present as the verdicts were delivered by the jury.

Prosecutors said she was a ‘constant malevolent’ presence at all the deaths and collapses between June 2015 and June 2016.

She forced air into the bodies of babies, many of them born prematurely, and on two occasions poisoned babies with insulin. Letby also physically attacked some of the babies, the court heard.

She denied seven offences of murder and attempting to murder ten others.

Giving evidence over 14 days, she denied doing anything harmful to any child and that the sudden collapses and deaths could have been due to natural causes, or for some unascertained reason, or from failure by others to provide appropriate care.

But Letby was convicted of murdering seven babies. She was also found guilty of seven counts of attempted murder.

In bodycam footage, shared by Cheshire Police, it shows the moment Letby was first arrested, in July 2018.

The first video shows a detective knocking on her door in Hereford at 6.03am. Letby opens the door, wearing a blue Lee Cooper tracksuit, and looks shocked to find the police waiting.

“Hello, Lucy is it?” the detective asked.

“Yes,” she replied.

“My name is [redacted], Cheshire Police, are we OK to step in two seconds?” the detective said.

“Erm, yes,” she answered quietly.
