WATCH | Cheslin Kolbe breaks his Toulon try drought in typically magical fashion

The wait for Toulon supporters might've been longer than they expected, but they could rejoice at Cheslin Kolbe belatedly crossing the whitewash for his new French club at the weekend.

Even more satisfying was the fact that the Springbok star did so in typically magical fashion.

There had been a sense of indifference about the 28-year-old winger swopping the highly successful Toulouse for the big-spending yet fallen giants of the European game - some even accusing him of prioritising money over everything else.

It certainly didn't help that he first had to find his feet again after being sidelined for the majority of the latter part of 2021 with a leg injury.

And it was that second try that stole the show.

After skinning an initial defender, the twinkled-toed Kolbe launched a nifty chip and re-gathered while almost simultaneously and subtly changing direction to wrong-foot the last line of marking.

Toulon went on to defeat La Rochelle 41-11.
