WATCH | Charles Leclerc gives Ferrari's new SF-23 horns during car launch in Italy

The Ferrari Formula 1 team gave its fans one of the most impressive car launches of the year when they drove the new SF-23 around the Fiorano racetrack in Italy. And for the first time in a long time, there were fans in attendance - 500, to be exact.

The team made it clear that they wanted the 2023 reveal to be special, seeing as it's the first one where members of the public could share in the experience. Luckily for the Tifosi in the grandstand, they were not disappointed as they got much more than they bargained for.

With drivers Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz addressing questions, they confirmed new team boss Fred Vasseur's words that winning the gold is the main objective this year.

"The goal is to win, clearly," said Leclerc, who took the SF-23 for a spin around the track in front of some of the team's passionate supporters.

"The feeling of winning is what motivates me, motivates all the team too. I'm really looking forward to getting back in the car and trying to win the championship."

The F1 season gets underway on 3-5 March in Bahrain.

2023 must be better

The uptake of the new season is not just for Ferrari to present a new F1 car, but to take the fight to Red Bull Racing and Max Verstappen. Having won three of the opening four races, the Scuderia quickly saw the wheels fall off as 2022 went from bad to worse.

And Leclerc went from title contender to battling Verstappen's teammate, Sergio Perez, for second place. Though Leclerc and Sainz were spared the axe, the same could not be said of former team boss Mattia Binotto, who was released from his duties and replaced by Vasseur.
